Dr Jennifer Willet and The Arts & Genomics Centre announce the online video launch of the BioARTCAMP Video. BioARTCAMP is a hybrid workshop / conference / performance event where 20 national and international artists, scientists, filmmakers, and university students will work for two weeks to build a portable biology laboratory in Banff National Park. The BioARTCAMP Video was co-produced by G-Netwerk & INCUBATOR (Jeanette Groenendaal, Zoot Derks and Jennifer Willet) and serves an evocative artwork itself, while providing a glimpse of the BioARTCAMP experience to a larger general audience. For more information: TAGC is an official sponsor of the BioARTCAMP. |

The Arts & Genomics Centre is coordinating a new edition of the Leiden University Honours class on Bioart. Centered around the theme "Who Owns Life?", the course will bring together different perspectives on the issues of owning life including esthetical, legal, scientific, ethical, and economic. In order to connect the philosophical questions above with everyday scientific practice the Australian bio-artist Boo Chapple will use the first four sessions to work with the participants in the lab with some hands‐on biological techniques. "VivoArts: Art and Biology Studio - Wet Lab Practice and Bio‐Art Pedagogy " is part of the Leiden University Honours Education. |
